College student Andrew Taylor of Holton Road, Carterton, West Oxfordshire Technical College in Witney, demonstrated his pet tarantula Maximilian the red-legged Mexican tarantula to lecturers and students as part of his English language O-Level assessment. He was joined by other students who also brought in musical instruments, fishing tackle and a ten-pin bowling set to demonstrate their interests. Although the tarantula put the jitters up a few of Andrew’s fellow students, they ended up fascinated by the demonstration. Maximilian is not poisonous and only bites when attacked or upset.College student Andrew Taylor of Holton Road, Carterton, West Oxfordshire Technical College in Witney, demonstrated his pet tarantula Maximilian the red-legged Mexican tarantula to lecturers and students as part of his English language O-Level assessment. 986187 10 Maximilian the red-legged Mexican tarantula passed his exam with flying colours. He was the star of the show at an English language O-Level assessment at West Oxfordshire Technical College in Witney on Monday. College student Andrew Taylor decided to bring him in for a five-minute illustrated talk in front of lecturers and students. xh The unusual demonstration was part of a test to show whether students can communicate their interests. Others brought in musical instruments, fishing tackle and a ten-pin bowling set. “Although it was me who was being tested, Max did his part very well,” said Andrew, 17, of Holton Road, Carterton. His pet tarantula put the jitters up a few of his fellow students, but they ended up fascinated, “They were a bit ner- vous, although not as ner- vous as I was having to give the talk,” said An- drew. The tarantula, named after a Mexican emperor, is not poisonous and only bites when artacked or upset. Andrew who is pictured above with his pet has had UT TAK 1705
