A packed crowd watches closely as West Brom full back Brendan Batson takes on Forest’s Scottish international winger John Robertson during a goalless match at Witney. Match referee Mr Peter Ladbrook from Cowley commented that the game had a fast pace but lacked flow, with neither team trying hard enough to score. Linesmen Mr Brian Adams from Botley and Mr Edward Thomas from Woodstock also experienced 90 minutes of big time football, with few occasions for the referee to blow the whistle.A packed crowd watches closely as West Brom full back Brendan Batson takes on Forest’s Scottish international winger John Robertson during a goalless match at Witney. The ref’s view MATCH referee Mr Peter Ladbrook, from Cowley, reckoned it was a very enjoyable game. “The pace was much fas- ter than I am used to. But the game did not really flow. “It needed a goal and I think both teams could have tried a bit harder,” said Mr Ladbrook. But for the Cowley referee and linesmen Mr Brian Adams, from Bot- ley, and Mr Edward Thomas, from Woodstock, it was a taste of 90 minutes of big time football. “I had few occasions to blow the whistle and never needed to say anything to the players. They were very polite gentlemen,” said Mr Ladbrook. 41 979 HALE A packed crowd watches closely as Forest’s Scottish international winger John Robertson takes on West Brom full back Brendan Batson during the goalless draw at Witney.
