On August 20th, 1980, farmers from Chipping Norton and Witney in West Oxfordshire came together to donate more than 1,000 to the Stoke Mandeville Hospital Appeal. Mr George Kellow, an appeal committee member, is seen receiving cheques from Mr Roger Nubb, chairman of Chipping Norton NFU, and Mr Ted Boughan, Witney NFU chairman. One of their members is Salford farmer Mr Oliver Colston, chairman of West Oxford- shire District Council, who last year spent several months at Stoke Man- deville after he broke his back.
