On June 2nd, 1957, visitors to the County Dairies in connection with the June Dairy Festival were fascinated by the process of capping bottles of milk. Timing had to be exact, or the bottle and its cap could end up in different directions. But how many of us realise how the top got there? All June, parties are being taken round the County Dairies in connection with the June Dairy Festival. Part of the process that fascinated most visitors was the capping of bottles, seen above. The timing has to be very exact, or the bottle goes in one direction, the cap in another. About 7,000 gallons of milk a day comes from these dairies.
