On September 2nd, 1957, Mrs. Peter Beck, wife of one of the headmasters at Cheam School, was seen making up a bed in one of the two dormitories which eight-year-old Prince Charles may use when he starts as a pupil on September 23rd. The beds in the dormitory are 200 years old and have wooden boards as the base for a hard flock mattress, with no springs.
