Victoria and her mother, Sue Riches, were dressed in their Polar Gear, with the family’s pet penguin, Charlie, ready for the off. The Riches family, which included Ed, Victoria, Jeremy, Sue, and Philip, pulled their sleds over pressure ridges and navigated their way through rubble. On a typical Arctic day, the family was eventually picked up by a plane and taken home. The photos were taken by photographer R.
