On February 15, 1967, Thestate announced its UHK 347E 3×2 estate car, claimed to be the first British estate car designed independently and not adapted from a saloon. It features a maximum load space of 70 cubic feet with a total platform length of 6ft. 4in. and two versions, a De Luxe priced at 816 3s. 4d. and a Super at 889 18s. 4d. The car is powered by the 1,300 c.c. engine, with a four-speed all-synchromesh gearbox, hydraulic disc self-adjusting brakes, independent coil front and semi-elliptic rear suspension, and no grease points. Engine: 4-cyl. 1,297 c.c., 57.5 b.h.p. rear, Brakes: Hydraulic disc self- front, adjusting. Gears: 4-speed all-syn- chromesh with floor change (optional steering column change). The standard models are powered by the 1,300 c.c. engine developing 57.5 brake horse power, with a four- speed all-synchromesh gear- box. Floorchange and indi- vidual front seats are fitted. TECHNICAL DETAILS Both are four-door models offering seating for five and 36 cubic fant drum Suspension: Independent coil front, semi-elliptic rear.
