Accusations of profiteering aside, Nunn is one of the world’s most successful directors; in the past year alone he has directed “Les Miserables” for the Palace Theatre, “Nicholas Nickleby” for “Chess” for the West End, Broadway, “Porgy and Bess” for Glyndebourne and “The Fair Maid of the West” for the RSC. Born in January 1940; educated Downing College, Cambridge. He is standing down as Chief Executive of the RSC in 1986, but will remain as Joint Artistic Director.
