Last weekend, three Kidlington residents dominated the Oxford area RAC “L” Driver of the Year competition and took the first three places. Mr Henry Kavanagh, aged 25, was the winner and was awarded a shield, a voucher for 50 gallons of petrol, and a place in the national finals at the Crystal Palace, where the first prize is a new car. Miss Susan Weller, aged 18, and Mr Raymond Duckett, aged 21, took second and third places respectively, and also qualified for the national finals. The competition was open to all who had taken a full course of driving lessons at a recognised driving school and passed their test within the last year.
