TNI Indonesian Service Chief GENERAL ABDUL HARIS NASUTION – Vintage Photograph

This photograph features General Abdul Haris Nasution, the Minister of Defence and Security. Born in 1918, he received his education at the Netherlands Military Academy in Bandung. He served in the Netherlands Indies Army, achieving the rank of Colonel in 1945. In 1948, he played a role in suppressing the Sumatra rising. Nasution served as Chief of Staff from 1949 to 1952 and again from 1955 to 1962.
