On July 26th, 1963, two young farmers from Finland, Miss Aila Alastalo and Mr. Perttu Jrvinen, were in Oxford on an exchange visit to Britain. The two had just recently returned from a 12-day visit to Finland, during which they were accompanied by Miss Pamela Kimber, Chairman of the Oxfordshire Federation of Young Farmers Associations, and Mr. John Stevens, Chairman of the Y.F.A. at Great Shefford, Berkshire. During their visit, they visited the Ministry of Agriculture building in Marston Road and the Royal Show at Stoneleign, and Miss Alastalo wore her national costume. Both were impressed with British farming machinery and found that fields were better kept, although Mr. Jrvinen noted the presence of more stones in British fields than in Finland. Both expressed a desire to return for another visit in the future. On July 26th, 1963, two young farmers from Finland, Miss Aila Alastalo and Mr. Perttu Jrvinen, were in Oxford on an exchange visit to Britain.
