On October 30, 1971, Avena Busia, 18, daughter of the Prime Minister of Ghana, and 17-year-old Jocelyn Harris were among the principal prizewinners at Headington School’s Speech Day. During the event, the Headmistress, Miss P A Dunn, discussed the school’s aim to provide a wide range of choices for each individual. The Speech Day address was given by Mr Charles Chriotio, who had recently been appointed Warden of O.Edward’s School in Oxford.
